Jennifer Freire

Artist.  Designer.  Wife.   Mom.  DIY’r.

Jennifer is a NOLA native who works from her home-based office in Metairie. She received her B.A. in Fine Arts from UNO and brings to the table over 20 years of experience in web design, graphic design, digital marketing, photography, and various coding technologies. She takes pride in her problem-solving and critical thinking skills, which she applies in both her professional and household environments. She’s a “do-it-yourself, hands-on” type of person who never hesitates to learn new skills from exploring the latest website software to laying tile, floating drywall, or even disassembling her car door to replace a broken lock. Her combined artistic talent and technical skills give her an unique perspective that is unlike any other designer out there.

Jennifer Started New Orleans Web Design Studio shortly after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  She proudly designs everything from start to finish and has never outsourced a single project. She values quality over quantity and provides her services to valued clients in the New Orleans area.

Jennifer currently resides in Old Metairie and is a wife and mother of two children. Her hobbies include canoeing, camping, fishing, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Over 20 Years of Design Experience

Learn how we’ve grown over the years.

1998: A new Creative Medium

While attending NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Arts), Jennifer was introduced to graphic design using Photoshop and Illustrator. Since her childhood years, she had a passion for art, and this design software opened up for her a new world of creative possibilities.

2000-2003 Early Years of Web Design

Working towards her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts at UNO, Jennifer also excelled in Computer Science. She took a Hypermedia class and immediately saw the perfect opportunity to merge her creative skills with her love for technology. The class provided her the basics in web design at the time – HTML and CSS tied together with Dreamweaver. On her spare time, Jennifer would visit the computer lab to access various editing tools such as Flash, Fireworks, Coldfusion, and Premiere. She loved learning how to use all of the latest software.

2003-2008 Tying it Together Professionally

Jennifer was ready to put her skills to work beginning in 2003. She was hired by LSU Health Sciences Center and assisted with design and maintenance for the Continuing Medical Education website. She also briefly worked for a local marketing company before establishing her own web design business in 2005.

2008-2020 The Rise of Content Management Systems

During our early years, we established a love for content management systems. Our favorite CMS at the time, Joomla, allowed us to offer new services that were previously not practical nor secure for our clients. We learned how PHP and MySql were pushing web design into a new realm. Database driven CMS websites quickly became the new standard, allowing us the freedom to design customized sites while implementing advanced functionality. We could now provide attractive e-commerce websites, advanced forms, photo galleries, caching, and so much more.

The Possibilities with WordPress

Fast forward to 2020, and we’ve had almost all of our clients’ websites transferred to WordPress. There is no other CMS in our opinion that to date matches the level of third party development and support. We’re part of an amazing community of web designers and software developers who constantly work to improve the system. This means our clients and theirs all benefit from the latest trends in design, functionality and security.
